Relics examines how war reshapes the ways memory is constructed, interpreted, and preserved. Drawing on the ancient tradition of bas-relief, I deconstruct and meticulously reassemble selected online images of military deployment. Through this process, I transform fleeting digital documents into sculptural fragments—objects that exist between fact and imagination, evidence and interpretation.
The reconstructed scenes reveal the psychological and physical tensions embedded within these images. They suggest the aftermath of collapsing systems and the emergence of an unstable matrix, where identities, histories, and narratives become hybrid, fragmented, and unresolved. These forms resemble relics, yet resist behaving as traditional artifacts; instead, they expose the uncertainty and speculation that surround the remnants of conflict.
