TASTY

Installation view

Tasty is a two-channel video installation examining the motivations behind certain acts of religious devotion. In the first channel, a miniature mosque constructed from sugar cubes is gradually overtaken by ants, who climb over and dismantle the structure grain by grain.

The second channel focuses on close-up details of ants tasting and consuming the sugar, transforming instinctive feeding behavior into a charged metaphor. Drawn by desire rather than belief, their actions suggest how places of worship can sometimes be approached not through faith, but through personal interest concealed beneath religious form.

The installation expands into the exhibition space through a structure built from dozens of 35 cm cardboard cubes, which serve as the projection surface and echo the sugar-cube architecture seen on film. Some cubes appear displaced or opened, revealing the second channel within the installation and extending its microscopic focus into the physical space.
