At the Podium – Series 2015
In this series of small paintings, I revisit the endless parade of politicians who passed across Iraq’s podiums—figures who changed faces, loyalties, and promises faster than the public could follow. Their speeches multiplied, their microphones multiplied, yet their identities blurred into one another. In each painting, the politicians dissolve into smears and distorted gestures, reflecting a political landscape where clarity was rare and truth was unstable. The podium becomes a stage of constant mutation: a place where power speaks loudly but remains faceless.
