New and recent works of Adel Abidin are presented in the exhibition The Move, at the ARTER exhibition space in Istanbul. The show curated by Başak Şenova is organised as a combination of three distinctive solo exhibitions by three different artists. Artists exhibited alongside Adel are Rosa Barba and Runa Islam.
A solo exhibition dedicated to Adel Abidin's work is taking place at the Kunsthalle Winterthur, in the city of Winterthur, Switzerland. It will be open from the 23rd of September until the 11th of September. The opening reception is taking place on Saturday, September 22nd at 5pm.
The works of Adel Abidin Ping Pong and Consumption of War will be presented as part of the group exhibition Come Invest in Us. You Will Strike Gold from September 10th until October 29th at the Brot Kunsthalle in Vienna.
The exhibition Aftermath curated by Basak Senova will feature the work Green Mouse by Adel Abidin. The show will happen between the 14th of March and the 28th of April 2012 at the Akbank Art Center in Istanbul.
Five recent works of Adel Abidin will be presented at the new exhibition Solo show at the Wharf Contemporary Art Center in Hérouville Saint-Clair in France from the 8th of October until the 3rd of December 2010.
The BBC One recently broadcasted a documentary about Iraqi contemporary arts after the re-opening of the Iraq pavilion at the Venice Biennale this summer. Imagine: Iraq in Venice is directed by Jill Nicholls and part of a series dealing with arts presented by Alan Yentob. The documentary features various interview segments with Adel Abidin in his studio or working at the Iraqi pavilion.
An extensive interview with Adel Abidin has been published by the Aslan Media website. The interview was conducted by Erin Joyce and published on Wednesday, 20 July 2011. Alsan Media is a non-profit website providing information on events in and issues about the Greater Middle East and its Diaspora communities.
The video installation Memorial will be presented in the group exhibition Continuity at the Center for Contemporary Arts Zavod Celia Celje, in Celje, Slovenia from 30.6. until 11.9.2011. The opening will take place on Thursday, June 30, at 7.p.m.
