Hopscotch is filmed anew for each exhibition. Children play hopscotch in front of a locked, backlit gate—turning the scene into a haunted threshold they approach without knowing what lies beyond.
The video is displayed inside a round convex traffic mirror, and the footage is distorted to mimic the mirror’s curvature. As viewers stand in the space, the children appear reflected exactly where they would be in real life—even though they are not physically present, creating an overlap between the current space and its ghosted memory.
