COURT ROOM

Installation view

Court Room originates from a real legal case involving a personal accusation. The proceedings were conducted in the artist’s absence, and he later received a set of scanned legal documents from his lawyer. These documents form the sole material basis of the work.

The drawings are made directly onto the original legal papers. Initially, the artist marked the documents to obscure sensitive information such as names, dates, addresses, and identifying details. Over time, these gestures evolved into intentional visual interventions, responding to the tension embedded in the procedural language of the texts.

Through drawing, the documents shift from administrative records into altered objects—simultaneously concealing and revealing fragments of the case. Through drawing, the documents shift from administrative records into altered objects—simultaneously concealing and revealing fragments of the case.
