CONSUMPTION OF WAR

Video clip – original vide0; 03:20 min

Consumption of War examines the catastrophic environmental consequences of a world driven by relentless corporate expansion and consumer culture. In the video, two men engage in a seemingly playful duel using fluorescent laser sabers reminiscent of Star Wars. As the battle intensifies, each light is gradually consumed until the room falls into complete darkness—turning the game into an unsettling metaphor.

The fading light reflects the depletion of natural resources, while the playful aggression becomes a symbolic enactment of humanity’s destructive relationship with nature. Through this simple yet charged gesture, the work critiques the false promises of corporate power, the illusion of control, and the escalating environmental damage left in the wake of unchecked consumption.
